About Wee Folk Outfitters...
Wee Folk Outfitters is a one-gnome workshop located in a non-descript shed tucked behind a modest little house in Boardman, Ohio. The people who drive past don't know it (and would probably be alarmed if they did), but there's Magic happening just yards from their air-conditioned cocoons — not to mention a Wood Gnome wielding power tools and very sharp chisels. You see, the specialty of this workshop is the design and creation of magical little doors and windows for the Wee Folk of the world. Though their numbers have dwindled due to suburban and exurban sprawl, there are still quite a few of the Wee around. Needless to say, with their natural habitats being destroyed and overrun with Big People, the Wee who've decided to stay in our world are experiencing a bit of a housing crisis. Recognizing the desperate plight of the Wee (and noting that Winter was just around the corner), the aforementioned Gnome decided it was high time somebody did something. So he fired up his saws, pulled out a jar of Fairy Dust he'd been saving and got to work. It wasn't easy at first — he'd never made a magical door before — and much wood was sacrificed as he learned the finer points of the craft. But persistance paid off and the first Fairy Door left his workshop in August, 2007. During that first year in operation, his little workshop — soon to be known as Wee Folk Outfitters — shipped out over a thousand little doors and windows to nearly every state in the US and all over the globe. Wee Folk doors and windows can be found throughout Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Australia and even Malaysia. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of hundreds of sympathetic Big People around the world. Their small individual investments have helped house countless Wee Folk — and their continued support will help provide countless more enjoy a portal to comfort and security. |
